<div>The challenge from a friend was a regular cd-length album with no words or voices - not just no lyrics. Which left out Cocteau Twins and Laurie Anderson, among others. The unstated part was that she's using this to annoy the officemate who says that any voices distract her, but not annoy my friend. My intent then is to mix and match genres - the all jazz or all classical mix would have been easy, but what's the point of that? <br/> <br/>Anyway, the mix: <br/> <br/>Pepperland - The Beatles <br/>Jessica - They Might Be Giants (the Allman Brothers cover from the "Why Does the Sun Shine" EP) <br/>Marsh Rose and Green Briar - Annwn <br/>Childgrove - The Waits of Southmarch (English Country Dance tune) <br/>Cantiga Medley - Broccelnade (however they spell it) <br/>Trademark - Eric Johnson <br/>Meniscus - This Mortal Coil <br/>September Fifteenth - Pat Metheney and Lyle Mays <br/>Der Paranoide Engel - "Wings of Desire" soundtrack <br/>Five Per Cent for Nothing - Yes <br/>Blue Monk - Theloneous Monk <br/>Skating - George Winston (the Vince Guaraldi tune, from A Charlie Brown Christmas) <br/>The Wonderful Sea Voyage (of Holy St. Brendan) - Alison Brown Quartet <br/>Mood for a Day - Yes (my only group duplication, but way different styles) <br/>Horizons - Genesis <br/>Final Motif - Birdsongs of the Mesozoic <br/>Think Music - from the collection "Mozart TV", the Jeopardy "theme" in the style of Handel variations. On harpsichord. <br/>Orange Blossom Special - Glenda Faye <br/>Honky Tonk Train Blues - Emerson, Lake and Palmer <br/>Bride of Rain Dog - Tom Waits <br/>Linus and Lucy - Game Theory (for fuzzy electric guitar) <br/>The Internationale - Ani DiFranco (not with Utah Philips, but on the album with him) <br/> <br/>I had to pull a couple of tunes off the original mix because they either had little bits of sound at the end I hadn't realized (and I'm just doing quick and dirty burns) or they just didn't really seem to fit.
